Originally, I wanted to make Crib Boards out of wine barrel staves.
But...I decided it would be more fun (and slightly easier) to drill one
big hole in a concave surface than a couple of hundred small holes.
In that one big hole, you can put the neck of a wine bottle and
balance it to keep the cork moist.
